The actual story is completely suffocated and tests the patience of even the most long suffering reader. But I’m not looking for a play by play journal of all the days of someone’s life. And then there’s this book, serving as the godly embodiment of that phenomenon.Ĭorin Cadence is the weirdest character I’ve come across.

There are books that suffer the flaw of too much exposition. In fact, never in my life have I come across a book this boring in all the realms of fiction. If you somehow liked the sound of any of the above, Sufficiently Advanced Magic is still not the book for you. Or maybe imagine that Harry was an obsessive journaler who recorded his every last thought, no matter how irrelevant or unimportant. Imagine the entirety of Advanced Potion Making typed out into the middle of Half Blood Prince. Imagine Harry Potter, except with every professor’s every lecture transcribed word for word. Corin is prepared to go to any lengths to achieve his goals, but once inside the tower, things do not go as planned at all.
